Description
These earrings are unique pieces, designed and handmade by Liisa Vitali. They originate from her private estate.
Liisa Vitali is Finland’s most important female silversmith, whose progressive and sensual approach to jewelry making strongly contributed to Finnish jewelry becoming greatly appreciated worldwide in the 1960s and 1970s. Vitali is best known for her beautiful ”Ladybird” and ”Lace” series.
Vitali’s artistic style is a unique, beautiful representation of the Finnish modernist jewelry that emerged in the early 1960s, inspired by Scandinavian jewelry and Finnish folklore. Other important representatives of this movement were Tapio Wirkkala, Pentti Sarpaneva and Björn Weckström.
