HANS HANSEN

Hans Hansen (1884-1940) was a goldsmith who began his own firm in Golding, Denmark, around 1906. He built a reputable flatware business before moving to jewelry design and production. His son, Karl-Gustav Hansen joined his fathers business in 1914, and took over the business in 1940, after the death of his father. Karl Gustav Hansen, along with other notable Danish jewellery designers Bent Gabriel Pedersen and Bent Knudsen, re-defined his fathers business with sleek, modern designs. The firm was merged with Georg Jensen in 1992.
